"It is my goal through photography to have the viewer be provoked."

How did you become interested in photography?
On my 18th birthday my aunt helped bring out the photographer within me by paying for my first photography class. Being in Italy for a long period of time, I was always surrounded by aesthetic beauty and art, encouraging me to take as many photos as I possibly could, and inspiring me to strive for continuous satisfaction. I first began taking pictures of anything that came my way and decided to begin a photography Instagram page where I received a positive response and amassed 10,000 followers in just over a year.

Being in Italy for a long period of time, I was always surrounded by aesthetic beauty and art.

Ever since, I’ve taken photography as a more serious hobby, it has been a continuous growth with more technical and intentional shots that ultimately have helped me see another side of photographic art. Photographs are tributes that have been created to show a particular moment in time that can never again be exactly replicated. Each image has its own grace and deserves it’s own thrown.

What do you hope to achieve with your photography?
It is my goal through photography to have the viewer be provoked. Provocation has the power to spark a conversation amongst strangers and ignite a new way of learning. The ability to not only find the beauty and potential in any given situation, but to bring it out and show it to the world is my objective.

What inspires you to create?
My attempt of creative energy is directed towards answering ‘How can something that is easily perceived as habitual when first seen, become something that is worth looking at and admiring? Creating a “perfect photograph” is nearly a mini miracle in itself, and is something that is so rare. There is almost always something that can be adjusted whether that be the use of space, color, composition, the value, the moment, the post editing, and not only this but everyone will have a different stance on what is missing and what has been expressed fully; Nonetheless this is part of the magic.

Many photographers become fixated on searching for a telling story when many times there isn’t one, opportunities that are everywhere else are missed because of this search for something that isn’t there. Emotion and passion are constants. Transmitting these strong feelings to an audience is what I like to work with.

What do you hope your work accomplishes?
The idea that my work outlives me is a driving factor which makes photography a necessity in my life. I will never know what the future has to offer but I do know that having a camera gives you the chance to capture a moment in time and the world at your fingertips.

Photographs are tributes that have been created to show a particular moment in time that can never again be exactly replicated.
